Summer is almost here! Now is the time to get together and have a blast. Living in North bay provides us all with numerous opportunities for social engagements outdoors. 
If you as an individual or in association with a group of people wish to plan outings be it hiking, biking, swimming, baseball, soccer, canoing or anything else which may tickle your fancy feel free to provide us with the information of your intended event, time, and place. We will assist in advertising the event online, and send invites to all Northern Pride participants through facebook. 
Be it dog walking or an organized sport, I am sure others would be interested as well; so run with your ideas. 
Let's do our best to make this summer a safe and enjoyable one for all!
Keep in mind that such activities will also be a great way to bring together LGBTQ families and children!

At the first dance there were brochures made with the monthly dates for the Northern Pride dances.  Included on the back side was also a survey that provided opportunity for comments and concerns as well as a list of suggested activities that we would be able to get moving.

 

To date I have received only a few completed forms which would lead me to believe that there is nothing you would like done differently nor is there any additional activities you would like to organize or participate in…

I encourage you all to participate in making Northern Pride your community by putting together activities and events with full support and advertising!

This has been one of the most time consuming aspects of establishing Northern Pride.  We want to make sure that the dances sustain themselves, so that we can be assured if and when community members leave and travel outside of North Bay that there will be no financial drain on the next coordinators. 

We are making every effort to keep the cost of attending the dance at its most recent cost of $8, and it is the hope that we can make up for fluctuating attendance through raffles, product donations, as well as monetary donations made by community members who are able. 

If you know of any businesses, organizations, or individuals who would like to assist in assuring that the dances continue please feel free to contact me and I would gladly provide you with our funding request letter.  All donations will be accounted for and receipts recorded for transparency and legitimacy or myself and the reputation of Northern Pride. 

I hope that together we are able to bring greater diversity to the types of events and activities that will be offered.  I guess the importance lies in the networking that we do and the various ways we can all work together. 

Please feel free to send my any pictures you would like to have put online! also if you have any art, writing, or ideas that you want to share that too makes for a great addition. 

Well to fill you in...times are passing quicker than I would have though and we are just about a week away from our first dance.  All we hope is that each and everyone of you enjoy yourselves, make new friends and reunite with old pals.

Letters have been sent out for supporters so that we can assure that these dances will sustain themselves and be accessible as possible.  
All proceeds, will stay in the running of events, seminars and socials for the queer and queer positive community of North Bay.

There is great potential shown by the volunteers that are involved and they are eager to work on new and exciting ideas. 

I am thankful for all the current support, but the hard work and dedication of all those individuals who put their all into the running of the pride dances in the past will never be forgotten! Thank you for your visions.
